Cardinal Newman to lie in state; more time needed to examine miracle
October 03, 2008

The remains of Cardinal John Henry Newman will lie in state at Birmingham Oratory on October 31 and November 1 in preparation for his beatification, according to an Oratory press statement. Theologians who met at the Vatican on Tuesday to examine a healing attributed to the cardinal’s intercession have asked for more time, according to the statement from the Birmingham Oratory.
